Facilities
POLYECO SA is located at private owned grounds of 35,000sq.m next to the Greek Oils Refinery at Aspropyrgos, Attica. The company applies the approved Environmental Operation Rules, has an Installation Licence, Building Licence while it started operating at the second quarter of 2002.
Its premises cover the site of an ex steel mill, operating according to old standards, and downgrading the environment. We dismantled its installations by taking special modification measures for the water table. Before developing the new activity, the land was analysed as per the existing contamination level.
Land cleaning followed, and special protection measures were taken.
The unit was erected earlier than the anticipated completion period due to the increased and pressing needs of the market.
Both the installation planning and the equipment selection was based on a directive related to an integrated prevention and contamination control (IPPC).
POLYECO SA forms a standard of industrial cohabitation.
It is located among 2 big industries (refineries and a steel mill), a strategic point for the exchange of by-products, waste and infrastructure (such as iron objects, and steam, respectively). Furthermore, its premises include a licensed waste storing station to be forwarded abroad for final disposal.
POLYECO SA facilities in Thessaloniki
Since the beginning of 2006, POLYECO SA inaugurated a new ultramodern provisional storing – reloading of dangerous and solid waste unit, at Industrial Zone of Sindos, Thessaloniki.
The unit is fully licensed, while its objective is to DIRECTLY provide its services to the possessors – producers of waste in the broader area of Northern Greece.
Furthermore, through a reloading station, certain items of dangerous waste are transferred to the port of Thessaloniki for a final disposal by expert houses of the European Union.
