Environmental Policy

The Company’s Environmental Policy fully complies with the requirements of Regulation No 761/2001/EU (EMAS) intending to a continuous improvement of the environmental performance of the Company through a documented administration of its environmental consequences.

POLYECO SA is an industrial unit intending to an environmental management and valorization of the waste and as such it could only operate by applying correct environmental terms. The Environmental Administration System of the Company offers a framework for the accomplishment of an organized and objective-driven continuous improvement of the environmental performance related to all the company’s activities and by all its employees. A continuous updating / sensitization of the personnel on environmental protection in connection with the use of state of the art equipment and strict production procedures contribute a minimization of the Company’ environmental consequences.

The basic axes of both the Environmental Administration System and consequently the Environmental Policy of the Company are the following:

• Evaluation, control and monitoring of the environmental consequences of the existing activities including the evaluation and anticipation of the consequences resulting by the application of new production procedures for carrying out a new product or an offer of new services.
• Application of the proper measures and programs for preventing and limiting any possible pollution, protection of natural recipients, as well as confrontation of emergency issues.
• Commitment for a continuous improvement and prevention of pollution.
• Both strictly application and compliance with any relevant environmental laws, regulations and any additional requirements being accepted.
• Investments on anti-pollution technology intending to a continuous improvement of the environmental performance with the assistance of measurements, analyses and statistic processes of the environmental indexes.
• Definition and carrying out of the environmental legislation monitoring procedures and introduction of corrective and preventive measures in case of deviances from either the law or the introduced environmental objectives.
• A continuous training of the personnel intending to its sensitization on environmental issues and its better familiarization with an Environmental Administration System of the Company.
• Cooperation and communication with the competent bodies (both public and private) as well the residents of the area on issues related to the protection of the environment.
• Cooperation with industries (suppliers, customers) for the provision of solutions and counseling on a better administration of their waste and their environmental criteria compatibility guarantee with the company’s policy.
