History
POLYECO SA was found in 2001 by Ioannis Polychronopoulos family, intending to offer integrated services in the waste management and valorization sector. Up to present it is the first and only Greek industry offering integrated waste administration and exploitation solutions, an investment of € 13,500,000.
The decision to proceed to this investment was taken after the successive results of a research program of the General Secretariat of Research and Technology, where the Universities of Patras and Crete participated together with Dimokritos EKEFE , Titan cements and theEnvironmental Protection Engineering SA.
Environmental Protection Engineering SA, the parent company, is the first company activating in the environmental protection sector. Since 1977, it offers high level services and products for the protection of sea and land environment. Since 1989, it provides industrial waste administration services.
Being certified by ISO 9001, referring to all its services and products and ISO 14001, for waste administration, in 1992, Environmental Protection Engineering SA was awarded by the Athens Academy through its founder Mr I. Polychronopoulos
